About

Advising Philosophy

My advising philosophy is centered around community which includes the use of teamwork and collaboration to provide students with well-rounded support. My background in educational counseling has helped me to develop my skills when it comes to creating a support team for students through connecting with other leaders and student services on campus. Understanding the unique identities and experiences of every student that I work with allows me to guide them to various resources on campus that may help students to find their own sense of community. As a former transfer-student, I understand the challenges that may occur when adapting to a larger campus, which is why I emphasize the importance of creating a welcoming environment for my students. My goal as an academic advisor is to serve as a knowledgeable resource for students as they navigate the university and develop their academic plans for the future.
